Disconnect III continues the exploration of the fragile and shifting nature of connection within the Disconnect series. While earlier works reflect on psychological and emotional distance, this piece turns toward the invisible infrastructures that mediate our interactions. Derived from electromagnetic soundscape recordings of a mobile phone, the work translates these hidden signals into a musical context. These reveal an underlying network of constant activity that surrounds us. Through the interplay between instrumentation and electronics, the piece revisits ideas of discourse and interconnectivity, not as seamless communication, but as something unstable and fragmented. In doing so, Disconnect III exposes a paradox: even within dense fields of connection, a sense of disorientation and disconnection persists.
